Each member of the Joel Toller Team lends their unique experience and extensive knowledge of Napa Valley in service of your needs. As longstanding members of the community who value giving back and small-town friendliness, we know that keeping Napa an ideal place to live and work isn’t just something you do on weekends, it’s a way of life—that’s why, among other community services, we donate a portion of our commissions to support local youth, health, and environmental causes.

 

Joel Toller  

A longtime St. Helena resident, Joel Toller has the necessary insider's understanding of the local area and its residents to help you buy or sell at the right time, for the right price. With hundreds of transactions to his credit, he is well versed in all aspects of the complexities of real estate: from property valuations, to finding the best loan, and to getting the necessary permits for improvements. His knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and patience will ensure your real estate transaction is successful.

Since becoming a realtor in 2000, Joel has quickly become one of the valley’s top-producing agents.  He ranks in the top 1% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide.  Joel holds a Bachelors of Science in agricultural business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and speaks fluent Spanish.

Joel grew up in St. Helena, where his father was the mayor. Frank Toller served on the school board and the city council, and practiced law. Following his father's example of community service, Joel has served as a chairman of the annual St. Helena Rotary Ball, and is a member of the St. Helena Public Schools Foundation Board and the International Odd Fellows. He has been an English-Spanish operating room translator for Rotoplast in Guatemala and a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama, where he taught sustainable agriculture practices. Recently, he was part of a team that led more than 30 teens from Grace Episcopal Church to build a retreat center in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Joel and his wife, Lisa, reside in St. Helena.

Ryan Nemeyer  

As a real estate professional, Ryan brings his contagious motivation and tireless work ethic to every transaction. He began his career as a marketing coordinator for elite real estate brokers in Napa Valley after obtaining a degree in organizational communications.

While establishing himself at Pacific Union and Christie’s International Real Estate, he had the opportunity to build relationships with home owners, developers, and investors throughout the Bay Area. Ryan joined Coldwell Banker Brokers of the Valley and The Joel Toller Team to continue to develop his extensive and ever-expanding knowledge of the real estate market and to fully understand and meet every client's needs.

Ryan communicates with thousands of potential buyers, maintains relationships with key agents and brokers nationally and internationally, and has access to hundreds of winery owners and investors throughout the North Bay.

Married to Shannon Nemeyer, the couple has two daughters. When Ryan isn’t spending time with his family or delivering exceptional service to his clients, he is giving back to his community through the Blood Centers of the Pacific, End 68 Hours of Hunger, and the Napa Food Bank.

Ryan is a member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, NorthBay Association of Realtors, Napa Chapter, and BAREIS.

Vanessa Mullally  

Vanessa Mullally’s first visit to Napa came when she was nine. Since then she’s lived in Washington State and elsewhere in the Bay Area, but family and the size and beauty of Napa Valley drew her back home.

In her experience with Coldwell Bankers she’s handled properties ranging from condos to multi-million dollar residential and commercial properties throughout Napa Valley. Her background in information technology, and as a math and computer science instructor at Napa Valley College, adds a level of know-how and sophisticated expertise to her current role as transaction coordinator. With her ability to multi-task and adopt new technologies and systems she can complete transactions as quickly as ten days or as long as over a year—the timeline can move as quickly, or slowly, as clients wish.

She enjoys hiking and trips to the beach with her husband and two small dogs, as well as reading and the occasional Netflix binge.

Barb Gates  

A native Californian, Barb Gates has lived in Napa for 26 years. Her previous work as a small business entrepreneur widened her perspective and helped her develop a wide skillset that allows her to tackle a variety of challenges.

Her experience includes working as a legal secretary for a real estate lawyer in Vermont for over five years, and she was also founder of a successful fitness club designed primarily for women. She later returned home to Napa Valley, where she handled nearly all facets of a bed & breakfast—from the books and purchasing to the buffet and gardening—challenges that honed her organizational skills and attention to detail.

When she isn’t hard at work finding new ways to make operations smoother and systems more efficient, she enjoys yoga, walking her English Labrador, and helping others.
